Lectio365- A Daily Prayer App

Dear Psalm project friends,

A happy and blessed New Year from my family to yours! May 2025 be for you a year of adventure and growth with Christ, his church and his mission in your world.

The new year is a time when many of us seek to begin new, healthy habits in our lives. I am writing to introduce you to a prayer/Scripture app called Lectio365.

https://www.24-7prayer.com/resource/lectio-365/

“With the Lectio365 app you pray the Bible by meditating on the scriptures and asking God to speak through them. This is a sustainable and life-giving model of spiritual formation and prayer for ordinary people. Jesus and his early followers paused to pray three times a day, and you can join in with this ancient rhythm and pray like Jesus did, with three short prayer times each day, easily accessible on your phone. When you pause in his presence, you create space for peace in a busy and complicated world.” (from the Lectio365 website)

Many of you already have a daily rhythm of engaging with God in Scripture (including the Psalms) and prayer. But for some of you it has been a struggle to cultivate a consistent and intentional prayer life. If that is you, I warmly encourage you to try out the Lectio365 prayer app for the month of January. The folks in the 24-7 Prayer movement have done an amazing job creating this tool for morning, mid-day and evening prayer. I especially appreciate how they include daily prayers from the psalms.

Whatever prayer practice you follow, I pray that 2025 is a year of growth for you!

6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.  (Colossians 2:6-7 NLT)
